Ambassador Ederer arrived in the region to attend the opening ceremony of the international scientific conference "Regional Strategies for International Security: Russia, the EU and the Middle East", organized at VSU with the support of the EU Delegation to Russia and in the framework of Jean Monnet project. The Ambassador also participated in the official opening of the EU Information Center at the University.

Ambassador Ederer also visited the “Spark of Hope” inclusive education center, which works with children with autism. One of the EU-funded projects for organizing education of children with autism was implemented jointly with ROOI “Perspektiva”. The project included not only work with children, but also trainings for headmasters and the development of a legal framework to protect the rights of children with special needs. The project is one of the most active centers working in this field. As a result, effective cooperation between parents of children with special needs, schools and the region’s administration was built in the Voronezh region.
