On November, 13 in Moscow, the "Life Route" charity foundation, the winner of the "EU Solidarity with Russian Civil Society" open grant competition, officially opened "Neighbours" daytime employment centre.

In the framework of the project "Supporting young people with disabilities from Russia in the aftermath of COVID-19 pandemic", the foundation provides assistance to adults with disabilities: it implements projects to support accompanied employment and accommodation, offers leisure options, etc.

Creative workshops, support and self-help groups for adults with mental disorders and mental disabilities and their families have already begun to work on the basis of the center, which was also opened with the support of the EU. In addition, various neighbourhood events are held for a wide audience (friendly tea parties, swaps, excursions, lectures, art therapy sessions).

The centre's program meets the needs of a wide variety of target audiences: the foundation's clients, adults with mental disabilities and their families, as well as residents of Chertanovo - neighbours of the newly opened site. Involving the neighbours of the centre in the work, the foundation seeks to normalize relations between different people, to include young adults with disabilities in socio-cultural projects.

The activities of the centre are supported by professionals in the field of social work and psychological support, as well as engaged foundation's volunteers.

Events aimed at socializing and supporting the fund's clients are held daily. Participation in workshops - culinary, environmental, sewing, theatre - allows adults with disabilities to adapt before entering the open labour market, develop household and professional skills, and feel more confident in group work. Various support groups contribute to the normalization of the social and psychological state of representatives of the most vulnerable groups.

The centre is located in Moscow, Varshavskoe shosse, 114k3.
