Mr Flory has come all the way from Italy to have a series of engagements in Manila in time for the 500^th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's death. The actor-director will also be the special guest in the screening of the film, "Being Leonardo da Vinci" on 19 November 2019 at the Film Development Council of the Philippines' Cinematheque, Kalaw, Manila.

The film is this year's entry to Cine Europa 2019 and is brought by the Philippine-Italian Association, Embassy of Italy, Mr Flory was able to come up with a carefully crafted narrative of the great artist famous for "Mona Lisa" and "The Last Supper".

The film tells the story of two journalists, from New York and Milan who are looking for a scoop about the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death. They analysed his art work and discovered a document revealing who the artist was until they came to Leonardo's final resting place in Clos Lucé and to their surprise, they were able to meet him. The interview was granted. And what unfolded was another experience in itself.

 The film was awarded in the USA for best actor - Los Angeles Actors Awards January 2019;  honorable mention: Narrative Film - Los Angeles Film Awards 2019; best narrative feature - Festive International Film Festival 2019 Los Angeles. It was also selected for the Accolade Global Film Competition and Miami Independent Film Festival

Other than Flory, the film also stars Gianni Quillico, Jacopo Rampini.

Cine Europa Roadshow

Cine Europa is now on its second to the final leg at the Film Development Council of the Philippines. It is the longest and most comprehensive film festival in the country as it takes place in nine cities in a variety of venues from theatres to malls and universities.  The festival started 1998 and has been running for 22 years.

The film festival toured Greenbelt 3, Makati, SM City in Cebu, Iloilo City;  Ateneo de Naga University and SM in Naga; SM City in Palawan; and Visayas State University in Baybay,Leyte.  

Cine Europa also goes to Alturas Mall in Bohol from 22 to 23 November.

The festival is presented by the EU Delegation to the Philippines and the Embassies of Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom, as well as Alliance Francaise in Manila, the British Council, the Goethe-Institut, Instituto Cervantes, and the Philippine-Italian Association.

Cine Europa has earned a niche among film enthusiasts in the country because of its strong collaboration with local partners, including the Film Development Council of the Philippines, Ayala Mall, Bohol provincial government, SM Corporation, the Ateneo De Naga University, the Visayas State University in Baybay Leyte and the Provincial Government of Palawan.
