The participants also familiarize themselves with other available statistical tools, developed and distributed by Eurostat, such as ETERES, software for the compilation of national accounts.

In 2016 UNDP Turkmenistan launched a joint project with TurkmenStat to improve foreign trade statistics of Turkmenistan in line with international standards. During 2016-2018, Eurostat contributed to this project by providing and financing expert assistance.

With the Eurostat's support, during the first phase, the experts assessed the situation in Turkmenistan regarding the production of trade statistics and provided a number of recommendations. These included an upgrade of the EUROTRACE software to its latest version and adjustment of old and new databases. During the second phase, the experts carried out installation and trainings for the experts of TurkmenStat.
