EU Ambassador to Paraguay Presents Credentials to the President

Ambassador Katja Afheldt was received by President Santiago Peña at the Paraguayan Government Palace, Palacio de los López, to present her credentials and officially begin her duties as the European Union Ambassador to Paraguay.

The meeting, which was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Rubén Ramírez Lezcano, was cordial and provided the Ambassador with the opportunity to discuss topics of mutual interest with the President. Both reaffirmed their commitment to continue strengthening the ties of cooperation and friendship between Paraguay and the European Union.

After the ceremony, the Ambassador offered a floral tribute to the heroes of the nation at the Panteón de los Héroes, located in the historic center of the city. In addition, the Ambassador signed the Panteón´s Book of Distinguished Visitors.
