10/04/20- Suva, Fiji – The European Union (EU) will mobilise and redirect € 119 million (FJD 295 million) to respond to the coronavirus pandemic in the Pacific. Fifteen partner Pacific islands countries and four European Overseas Countries and Territories will benefit from this support.
07/04/20- Suva, Fiji- Nearly 300 Europeans, from the European Union, Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom are on their way home from Fiji, including 183 on a repatriation flight operated by Fiji Airways and chartered by Germany. Others were able to transit back to Europe on flights to Sydney
The 2019 global theme for the International Human Rights Day is 'Youth Standing Up for Human Rights". In line with this theme the EU recognises five civil society organizations which have over the years worked with the EU in advancing and defending Human Rights in communities across Papua
The death penalty is incompatible with human dignity. It's inhumane and degrading treatment. It has no proven deterrent, allowing irreversible and fatal judicial errors. All of the EU has proudly abolished the death penalty.
