Each EU mission works in the framework of a comprehensive approach. The mission works in agreement and coordination with the EU Delegations in the same area and in the framework of EU regional policies.
The Delegation of the European Union to Papua New Guinea offers two internships for a period of 10 months beginning May 2018 through to February 2019. This is the first time that this opportunity will be offered at the European Union Delegation to Papua New Guinea. The EU's internship programme has however been offered at many other EU Delegations worldwide, with many young university graduates benefiting from this rich experience at a Delegation, including many Europeans who later became career EU officials.
On December 15, the European Union Delegation to Papua New Guinea, represented by its Acting Head of Cooperation visited the Sibalai community of Milne Bay Province to mark the occasion of the official launch of the Sibalai Resource Centre as part of the Community Led MDG Acceleration Project (CLMAP). The programme, developed as a pilot initiative by the European Union in 2012, aims to assist the government to accelerate achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) at the local level and to demonstrate community and civil society capacity to drive community development.
