On the occasion of Europe day, eminent speakers from different horizons were part of the panel that openly debated with a widely diverse audience, consisting of university and college students, academics, clergy, diplomats, and international organisations the lessons learned from the European past.
The panellists were : H. E. Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, Prefect of the Pontifical Council for Culture - Msgr Bernard Ardura, President of the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences - Silvia Costa, Member of the European Parliament, former President of the Commission for Culture and Education - Prof. Jean-Dominique Durand, University of Lyon, Vice-President of the French Catholic Academy - Prof. Marek Cichocki, College of Europe, Natolin, Poland - Prof. Manos Papazoglou, Associate Professor, University of Peloponnese, Department of Political Science and International Relations. The partner in the debate was the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity.
The annual celebration of the Schuman Declaration took place after the debate in the historical venue of Domus Circo Massimo, at the foot of the Palatine Hill, near the Circus Maximus. Over 400 guests honoured us with their presence.
