At an event organized on February 8 in Panama by the World Bank and COSEFIN, Panama’s adherence to the CCRF (instrumento de Seguros contra Riesgos de Catástrofes en el Caribe y Centroamérica) was welcomed.

"The European Union supported the objectives of the third United Nations conference and in the same way that it contributes to a similar initiative in the Pacific, it wants to contribute its support to the CCRIF," said Hoornaert in his speech.

The European Union, like the US, Germany, Canada, is part of the Multidonant Fund of the CCRIF Instrument for the Caribbean and Central America, with an economic contribution of € 14M, and integrates its Steering Committee where the performance of the CCRIF is known and monitored mechanism, strategic decisions are also approved. We are now celebrating the incorporation of Panama to the Instrument and we hope that the number of associated countries will continue to grow, in order to add to the region's financial resilience.
