The Ambassador of the European Union in Panama, Chris Hoornaert, participated in the opening of a workshop on Regional Policy MSMs, within the Program to Support the Development of the Private Sector in Central America (ADESEP), which the EU supports with 7 million Euros.
In the event organized by the Centro Regional de Promoción de la Mipyme (CENPROMYPE) and locally by AMPYME, representatives of the private sector participated to present the draft of the MSMEs policy in the countries of the Central American Integration System (SICA).
During his speech, Ambassador Hoornaert said that "the European Union recognizes the important role of MSMEs as a factor of development and creation of wealth, so we work together with Central America, to improve the productivity and competitiveness of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs and producers in the region.
He also said that the European Union hopes that harmonization of regional policy MSMEs promoted by the ADESEP, is an ingredient that energizes Central American integration and promote the development of MSMEs in Centroamerica, allowing them to open doors towards internationalization. "
