The European Union has today provided a contribution of €10 million to help the Palestinian Authority pay the September salaries and pensions of its civil servants mostly working in the health and education sectors in the West Bank.

We are now at the final stage of a long and complex process to establish it. Regardless of the allegations against Mr. Al-Akhras, the European Union reiterates its long-standing concerns about the extensive use by Israel of administrative detention without formal charges.
