European Union Ambassador to South Sudan Christian Bader and Head of Cooperation Wim Vandenbroucke on Wednesday met H.E. Vice President for Services Cluster Hussein Abdelbagi Akol and Hon. Minister of General Education and Instruction, Awut Deng Achuil.
The VP expressed his commitment to fight corruption, to progress towards peace and to provide basic services to the population.
Ambassador Bader and Vandenbroucke insisted on the need for the government of South Sudan to invest more resources in the crucial sectors of education and health, and to make sure that education and health frontline staff get regular and adequate salary payments.
They expressed support to the VP’s and General Education Minister’s efforts to secure more funds for these sectors within the next budget.
