Strong Girls - Powerful Women: mentoring day for women by the EU Delegation to Russia

27.05.2020

Women have made incredible advances in the world of work over the last several decades, however, they still face many challenges in realizing their potential. Mentorship and role models are important ways to help women overcome some of those challenges and barriers to better succeed in their current environment.

The EU Delegation proposes its first virtual mentoring day for twenty pre-selected Russian women to equip them with the concrete tools and inspiration to thrive in their workplace. It will take place on 9-11 June 2020.

A range of European and Russian experts will provide advice on important challenges women face today, including sexism, wellbeing, taking risks, and workplaces that are not adapted to the needs of women. Successful women who have built impactful careers in Europe and Russia will also inspire us through their stories. Among the experts are Aleska Simkic, Deputy Head of the European Union Delegation to Russia, Anastasia Mikova, journalist and producer of the film “Woman”, Isabella Leonarduzzi, founder of JUMP! Foundation, Malene Rydahl, author and wellbeing coach, Alyona Popova, women’s rights defender and lawyer, Varvara Melnikova, CEO of the Strelka Institute.

The event will also include meaningful peer-to-peer exchange to allow participants to reflect on their learnings and create a valuable network that will help them continue the work well beyond the mentoring day.

Please note that the event will be held in English without translation. Applications must be written in English.

All participants will be informed regarding their selection status by 4 June.
