The European Union Delegation to Norway will host its annual Europe Day reception on 7 May 2020, between 1 and 3 p.m., in Oslo. The event will bring together more than 300 invitees, Norwegians and foreign, from all sectors, including government, diplomatic, media and business. It is an excellent opportunity for companies and organisations to promote their image, products or activities, and we would be happy to open the event to their sponsorship.

These sponsorships can take the form of in-kind or financial contributions.

In-kind contributions can be for example drinks, food, decoration, entertainment, support staff, etc. Proposals for in-kind contributions will be discussed and agreed between the sponsor and the European Union Delegation.

Sponsors must declare the value of the contributions they provide in-kind.

Sponsors should be aware that the EEAS registers all sponsorships above 1.000 EUR and registers and publishes all sponsorships above 5.000 EUR on the Delegations web-sites and official website of the EEAS.

Financial contributions shall consist of direct payments to the service provider to cover all or part of the services. The amounts to be paid and the services they buy will be discussed and agreed between the sponsor and the European Union Delegation. There can be no direct payment to the European Union Delegation.    

The European Union Delegation will select the sponsors, whether public or private, on the basis of a number of criteria. The nature and the activities of the sponsor must be in line with the principles, values and commitments of the European Union and cannot undermine European Union policies. For 2020 preference will be given to sponsors presenting products or activities that contribute to the attainment of the objectives of the European Green Deal.  

The sponsors and the European Union Delegation will agree on all the elements of the sponsorship, such as the visibility, the acknowledgements, the allocated space, the promotion activities (with the exception of direct sales), the promotion material, etc.

The Sponsor must not be in a situation referred to in Articles 136 (1) and 141 (1) of the Regulation (EU, EURATOM) 2018/1046 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 July 2018 on the financial rules applicable to the general budget of the Union[1].

Sponsors are aware that the European External Action Service processes personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data by the Union institutions, bodies, offices and agencies and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Regulation (EC) No 45/2001 and Decision No 1247/2002/EC. In case personal data needs to be transmitted to any sponsors, as recipient, the organisation is required to ensure the same level of data protection guaranteed by the EU data protection framework, and in particular Regulation (EU) 2018/1725.
