Traineeships in Delegations

Are you a student interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work in a diplomatic mission and how an EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Norway?

What we offer

 

A traineeship within the Political, Press & Information Section of the EU Delegation to Norway in Oslo.

The traineeship will start in the beginning of January and last, depending on the applicant's availability, between 3 to 6 months.

 

Main tasks:

 

  • To take minutes at meetings as required
  • To participate in meetings with Norwegian stakeholders
  • To assist with the creation of content for the Delegation's website, social media accounts and newsletter
  • To contribute to the drafting of reports on political developments in Norway
  • To assist with the preparation of background briefings for visits and meetings
  • To assist in the organisation of events and seminars

 

Qualifications

  • Students enrolled in the 3rd, 4th or 5th University year
  • Undertaking a compulsory traineeship within the framework of their studies
  • Already studying and residing in the host country (Norway)
  • No previous experience in the EU Institutions longer than six weeks
  • Citizens of the host country (Norway), nationals from the EU Member States or pre-accession states
  • High command of Norwegian and English

Before applying you are requested to examine the general eligibility criteria* for a compulsory traineeships (Article 9 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 -

Unpaid compulsory traineeships for students already residing and studying in the host country)

 

All costs related to travel inside the country of residence, insurance, accommodation and living expenses must be borne by either the trainee or the University.

 

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited to be interviewed by telephone. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.
