A documentary film focusing on the economic challenges of Plateau state and the efforts to address them is premiering in Abuja on Thursday, February 2, 2016. The film entitled Plateau on the Move is directed by Johannes Preuss (jfp films) and produced by a young, ambitious production team from Plateau state. The film screening at the Jabi Lake Mall at 3.30pm is jointly organized by the European Union, the German Development Agency (GIZ) and the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Abuja.

The documentary derives its key message from the activities and outcome of a development project Deepening Economic Development for Peace and Stability in Plateau State, financed by European Union and implemented by GIZ. It focuses on change driven by individuals, groups and institutions, leading to a transformation of the society. "Plateau on the Move emphasizes the power of social mobilization and organization and its impact on economic growth," the event organisers said.

The film is spotlighting the lives and work of a group of people, who are somewhat connected through their personal stories. The different and partly interwoven story lines are intensively narrated, highly captivating and supported by beautiful images of the Plateau scenery and its people.  The film has the power to inspire and encourage people for change, whatever level of influencing capacity they might have in the Nigerian society and its economy.

The protagonists being portrayed in the film deliver a clear message: Change is always possible!
