EU-Japan leaders' video conference meeting, 26 May 2020
Agenda highlights
On 26 May 2020 the EU-Japan leaders' meeting will take place via video conference. The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will represent the EU. Japan will be represented by Prime Minister Shinzō Abe.
The leaders will discuss the COVID-19 pandemic and in particular:
- the importance of closer cooperation and enhanced coordination at global level
- the economic recovery
- the impact on global issues
During the video conference leaders will also discuss issues related to the EU-Japan Strategic Partnership.
