Introduction
The Delegation of the European Union to Nepal is proud to launch ‘Youth Talk: Catalysts for Human Rights’, a platform to spotlight young Nepalis who are actively building resilient, inclusive, and democratic societies through their commitment to human rights and civic engagement.
As Nepali democracy evolves, its youth have emerged at the forefront of debate and dialogue about the nation's future. Youth Talk aims to support the active engagement of Nepali youth in shaping the future of the country’s democracy.
How can you participate?
Take out your phone, record, and share your story about how you are working to promote human rights and civic engagement in your community. Send us the video via the submission form.
In the form, you will be asked to:
- Fill in your personal information
- Upload a 200-word summary of your story
- Upload a 3-minute video presentation
Who can apply?
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Nationality: Must be a Nepali citizen
- Age: Between 18 and 35 years
- Language: Submissions may be in Nepali or English
- Availability: Must be available for the workshop sessions on 5 and 6 December 2025, and to participate in the main event on 10 December 2025 (Human Rights Day)
- Experience: Must have demonstrable personal experience or stories related to human rights, democracy, or civic engagement

- Duration: 3 minutes
- Format: MP4 or MOV
- Orientation: Horizontal (landscape)
- Language: English or Nepali (subtitles encouraged, if possible)
- Audio/Visual Quality: Clear lighting and sound (smartphone quality is acceptable)
- Content: Must be original and represent your experience, initiative, or ideas
- File Size: Maximum 100 MB
- File Name: The video file must be labelled as FullName.mp4

Summary Submission Guidelines
- Submit a brief written summary of your story in 200 words, reflecting the same dialogue or message presented in your video.
- The summary must be in PDF format and labelled as FullName.pdf.

- Your video should portray your personal story, experience, or initiative connected to human rights, democracy, or civic engagement.

- Receive professional mentorship in storytelling and public speaking
- Present their stories live on Human Rights Day (10 December 2025) at a private event in Kathmandu
- Have their talks recorded and featured in a YouTube series produced by the Delegation of the European Union to Nepal
- Stand a chance to receive the winner’s prize and a certificate of participation
