The EU Delegation to Nepal was delighted with the response received on our first ever “Online Public Speaking Competition” organized on the occasion of Europe Day 2020 (9 May). We would like to thank all the high-school students who participated, as well as all the parents and teachers who encouraged their children to do so. 

 We received in total 26 videos of speeches on the assigned topic:  “Creative things that I have done during lockdown”.    We were very impressed with the very high standard of the videos submitted, and the talent they displayed.  The speeches were evaluated by 6 judges (3 Internal-EU Delegation and 3 External-Erasmus Alumni) under the three major categories:   analysis of theme/subject matter; content organization; and overall delivery of speech.  

 Our judges had a tough time evaluating and selecting the best entries, and it was a close run contest.  But after much deliberation and consideration, we are pleased to announce the top 5 speeches on the topic “Creative things that I have done during lockdown."   Congratulations to the 5 WINNERS listed below in order of merit !!

 1st  - Prakriti Manandhar-Grade 10, The Chandbagh School, Kathmandu

2nd - Parmita Shrestha- Grade10, Premier International School, Kathmandu

3rd – Shubhika Upadhaya Baral-Grade 10, St. Mary's High School, Kathmandu

4th -  Tejashwi Shrestha-Grade 8, Budhanilkantha School, Kathmandu

5th – Sharisha Tamrakar-Grade 9, Premier International School, Kathmandu

 

Each of the 5 winners will be awarded with a Certificate and an attractive gift hamper from the European Union Delegation.  The award-winning videos will be shared via our Facebook page.

Lastly, we will announce the award ceremony, on our website and social media, as soon as the situation is normalized.  The winners will be informed directly.
