European Union transferred equipment for Border Patrol of Government Security Services of Uzbekistan

Today, equipment was transferred in the amount of EUR 52,500 , that will allow to identify and verify the authenticity of the basic elements and means of protection of passports, ID cards, visas and other identification documents that give the right to cross the border in the amount of 52,500 euros.

Today, in the Border Patrol department of Government Security Services of Uzbekistan, a ceremony was held to transfer equipment from the European Union, as part of the BOMCA-9 Border Management Assistance Program in Central Asia.

Ruslan Mirzaev, Commander of the Border Patrol of the Government Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Eduards Stiprais, Ambassador, Head of the EU Delegation to Uzbekistan and Maris Domins, Regional Head of BOMCA-9 in Central Asia were attended to the meeting.

As Eduards Stiprais noted in his speech, "For the period 2003-2019, EUR 40.1 million were allocated for the implementation of the EU BOMCA program. To date, significant improvements were achieved in capacity and resources of the border agencies of the Central Asian region."
