EU Ambassador, Esmeralda Hernandez Aragones, has called for an end to all forms of gender-based violence and sexual discrimination.

The Ambassador was speaking on 21 February 2019 at Ezulwini during the launch of 'My Body My Rights Campaign', an EU-funded campaign that seeks to give credence to the emancipation of the sexual and gender identities and further advocate for equal rights for all.

In her speech, Ambassador Hernandez Aragones said the EU firmly believed in the universality and indivisibility of human rights, saying all rights are equally important and none can be fully enjoyed without the others.

"Together we say NO to violence! Our Bodies, Our Rights," said the Ambassador.

Ambassador Hernandez Aragones also said the campaign has come at the right time in Eswatini when the country had just passed into law the Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Act. She said the Act was an important tool in the fight against gender-based violence and hoped that it will go a long way in minimizing all forms of gender-based violence in the country.
