H.E. Vincent Piket presented his Letter of Credence – as the European Union (EU) Ambassador to Indonesia – to the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo today (20/11) at the State Palace in Jakarta.

H.E. Vincent Piket presented his Letter of Credence – as the European Union (EU) Ambassador to Indonesia – to the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo today (20/11) at the State Palace in Jakarta. Commenting after the presentation ceremony, EU Ambassador Vincent Piket said: “I am honoured to present today to President Joko Widodo the Letter of Credence with which the European Union appoints me Ambassador to Indonesia. I look forward to expanding and deepening the mutually beneficial relations and cooperation, as well as enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the EU and Indonesia”. EU Ambassador Vincent Piket is based in Jakarta and accredited to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam. Prior to his appointment in Jakarta, EU Ambassador Vincent Piket worked in Brussels at the EU's foreign service, the European External Action Service. There he was the Head of Division for Relations with Maghreb countries (Algeria, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia) in the Middle East and North Africa Department. Ambassador Piket has a long familiarity with the Asia region where earlier he served as EU Ambassador to Malaysia (2008-2012) and as EU Ambassador/ Head of EU Office to Hong Kong and Macao (2012-2016).He also held postings in Central and Eastern Europe, including Slovenia (1998-2001) and Russia (2001-2005), where he was Deputy Head of Mission.
