The European Union in Myanmar and the German Goethe Institute again organise a European Film Festival for film lovers in Yangon from 21 - 30 September 2018. With movies from 17 European countries, including 13 EU member states and guest contributions from Israel, Norway and Switzerland, the 27th edition of the European Film Festival will present the most ambitious programme in the festival's history.
The European Film Festival is the longest standing international film festival in Myanmar and has in the past reached more than 10,000 visitors each year. Films are shown at the legendary Nay Pyi Taw cinema in downtown Yangon and this year for the first time also in the more intimate, newly renovated Goethe Villa close to Yangon's Kandawgyi lake. As always, all films are shown in their original languages, with English subtitles.
