The European Union and its Member States in Myanmar welcome and support the recent political and judicial decisions to ensure an equal implementation of the law against violence, xenophobia and intolerance. 

Justice, democracy and the rule of law are the inseparable pillars of sustainable peace, stability and prosperity. 

Continued steps by the Government of Myanmar towards fighting impunity and countering intolerance in all its forms would further national reconciliation and promote peaceful co-existence in all sectors of society. The EU stands ready to support Myanmar in this crucial endeavour.
