World Food Day: EU-funded ECHO Green Project aims to promote Inclusive Green Economy in Agriculture Sector

 

Penabulu Foundation together with the Consortium for Supporting Community-based Forest System Management (KpSHK), Indonesia NGO Council (Konsil LSM) and ICCO Cooperation launched today a project titled "Promoting Green Economic Initiatives by Women and Youth Farmers in the Sustainable Agriculture Sector in Indonesia (ECHO Green)".

The launch of the ECHO Green project, which coincides with World Food Day, is held in collaboration with the Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS), the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, the Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration, the Ministry of Agriculture, and East Lombok District Government.

With financial support from the European Union worth €950,000 or IDR 16.6 billion, the ECHO Green project will enhance collaboration between the Government, civil society organisations (CSOs) and the private sector to introduce sustainable agricultural practices and to ensure the involvement of women and young farmers in village spatial and land-use planning.

Yayasan Penabulu bersama Konsorsium pendukung Sistem Hutan Kerakyatan (KpSHK), Konsil LSM Indonesia dan ICCO Cooperation hari ini meluncurkan proyek bertajuk "Promoting Green Economic Initiatives by Women and Youth Farmers in the Sustainable Agriculture Sector in Indonesia (ECHO Green)".

Peluncuran proyek ECHO Green yang bertepatan dengan Hari Pangan Sedunia diselenggarakan bekerja sama dengan Kementerian Perencanaan Pembangunan Nasional (BAPPENAS), Kementerian Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak, Kementerian Desa, Daerah Tertinggal, dan Transmigrasi, Kementerian Pertanian, dan Pemerintah Kabupaten Lombok Timur.

Dengan dukungan dana dari Uni Eropa senilai €950.000 atau Rp 16.6 miliar, proyek ECHO Green akan meningkatkan kolaborasi antara Pemerintah, organisasi masyarakat sipil (CSO) dan sektor swasta untuk memperkenalkan praktik pertanian berkelanjutan dan untuk memastikan keterlibatan perempuan dan petani muda dalam perencanaan tata ruang dan penggunaan lahan.
