We are

The European Union (EU) is an economic and political partnership between 27 European countries. It plays an important role in international affairs through diplomacy, trade, development aid and working with global organisations. Abroad, the EU is represented through more than 140 diplomatic representations, known also as EU Delegations, which have a similar function to those of an embassy.

We offer

We offer a temporary post of Accounting Assistant to assist the Head of Administration in the financial management of the Delegation's administrative budget in accordance with the existing rules and regulations, in particular as regards the accounting entries, payments to suppliers, salary of local agents, leaves and missions.

Duration: 4.5 months (from 4 September 2021 to 7 January 2022)

(with a possible extension subject to the needs of the Delegation and the performance and availability of the selected applicant).

Place of employment:  EU Delegation in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova.

Working hours: 37,5 hours/week.

Local Agent position: Group III.

Monthly Basic gross salary: 766 EUR.

We look for motivated candidates, who can demonstrate the following:

Qualifications: University level education of legal duration of at least 3 years in one of the following domains:  accountancy, public finance administration, business finance administration.

Professional experience: Job-Related experience: at least 2 years in the domains: accountancy, public administration, business finance administration.

Knowledge of IT tools:

  • Excellent PC skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

  • Good knowledge of the local accounting legislation
  • Ability to understand and be understood
  • Capacity to communicate technical and specialised information
  • Ability to work in a proactive and autonomous way
