Travel info: Cabo Verde replaces visa for Europeans by pre-registration system and airport security tax

As of 1 January 2019, there is no visa requirement anymore for citizens of most European countries (incl. all EU members) visiting Cabo Verde. However, all non-resident visitors must henceforth pay an Airport Security Tax of 3400 escudos.

Important information for European visitors to Cabo Verde:

As of 1 January 2019, there is no visa requirement anymore for citizens of most European countries (incl. all EU members) visiting Cabo Verde. However, all non-resident visitors must henceforth pre-register and pay an airport security tax of 3400 escudos. There are 3 ways how to do this:

- online up to 5 days prior to your flight, at www.ease.gov.cv

- at a travel agency

- upon arrival at the airport (queues possible)

The countries exempted from the visa requirement are all 28 EU member states incl. UK, as well as Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway. Exemption is foreseen for Monaco, San Marino and Andorra.
