EU-Civil society Contract Publicising Ceremony for three new projects addressing EU's Support to Elections in Armenia

On November 21, Piotr Świtalski, the EU Ambassador to Armenia and the representatives of three Civil Society Organisations will host an event to publicise the signature of three new grant contracts.

The EU Ambassador will announce EU-funded new projects geared towards enhanced civic engagement and oversight, which are indispensable elements of a democratic electoral process. This support runs in parallel with the European Union's substantive contribution to the Election Basket Fund that aims at strengthening the election administration system in preparation to early parliamentary elections on 9 December 2018.

Support to elections takes the form of civic engagement and awareness raising among voters, electoral administration staff and other key stakeholders and funding of a media support and a media monitoring initiative as well as three different election observation missions. Two of these are domestic observation missions with different deployment plans and methodologies as well as different geographical scope. The third is an international civil society mission conducted by the European network of election observation bodies.

The event will take place at Double Tree by Hilton, Parigi Hall (address: Grigor Lusavorich Street, 4/2, Yerevan,) at 14:30. The ceremony will be followed by a Question & Answer session for the media. The agenda of the event is enclosed.

Media registration will be done at 14:15.
