During his official visit to the state of Yucatán, the Head of the Delegation of the European Union in Mexico, Ambassador Klaus Rudischhauser, presented the modernization of the Economic Partnership, Political Coordination and Cooperation Agreement between the European Union and Mexico, better known as Global Agreement.

On January 15, Imma Rocca I Cortés, Deputy Head of the Delegation of the European Union in Mexico, participated in the opening of the Regional Workshop of Forests, Biodiversity and Ecosystems under the EUROCLIMA+ Programme in Valle de Bravo, State of Mexico. .

The Head of the Delegation of the European Union in Mexico, Ambassador Klaus Rudischhauser, visited Mérida, Yucatán, in order to participate in the signing of the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy  by six municipalities: Hunucmá, Mérida, Progreso, Tekax, Umán and Valladolid.

Accompanied by the Governor of Yucatán, Mr. Mauricio Vila Dosal, the Ambassador reiterated the support of the European Union to this initiative that seeks to combat  climate change and preserve natural resources.

The candidacy of Ms Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle for the post of Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organisation, was submitted in Rome on Monday 17 December 2018. The next Director General will be elected by the 194 Member States of the Organisation during its 41st Conference in June 2019. Ms Geslain-Lanéelle from France was identified as the EU candidate by the Council of the European Union on 15 October 2018.
