EUROCLIMAplus

EUROCLIMA+ is a program funded by the European Union, aimed at supporting the implementation of the Paris Agreement commitments, especially nationally determined contributions (NDCs), in 18 Latin American countries and, thereby, promoting environmentally sustainable and climate-resilient development for the benefit of the most vulnerable populations. EUROCLIMA+ is being implemented through the synergistic work of seven international cooperation agencies:  Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID),  French Development Agency (AFD), Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (CEPAL), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Expertise France (EF), International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP), and UN Environment.

The Program currently finances a total of 60 projects in urban mobility issues; forests, biodiversity and ecosystems, disaster risk reduction, resilient food production, urban water and energy efficiency, distributed in the 18 countries of Latin America. In parallel, EUROCLIMA + is supporting more than 50 actions related to climate governance, strengthening capacities and responding to the demands of countries in specific areas, always oriented towards the achievement of NDCs.
