Ambassador Klaus Rudischhauser welcomed around 400 guests, including senior Mexican officials, Member States, the diplomatic corps in the country, and representatives of various sectors of the civil society (business, education, and media). Among other things, the guests enjoyed live music and a sample of European food and drinks protected by geographical indication schemes.
Europe Day celebrations continued well into the night as three of the most iconic monuments on Mexico City's main avenue Reforma lit up, for the first time, in the EU colours. The EU Head of Felegation, along with some Ambassadors and officials of the EU Member States, Mexico City officials and the EU Delegation staff, participated in a ceremony in front of the "Angel de la Independencia".
Furthermore, as part of the Europe month celebrations, the Delegation organised a series of events in universities and media outlets (TV & radio) in which Ambassador Rudischhauser and the Ambassadors of EU Member States to Mexico exchanged views with students, professors and journalists about the achievements and challenges of the EU, as well as the future of EU-Mexico relations.
