What we offer?

A non-remunerated traineeship of maximum 6 months within the Political, Press and Information section of the EU Delegation in the Republic of Mauritius.

Main tasks:

  • Conducting research and analysing information (political, economic, social developments in Mauritius, Seychelles and the region)
  • Helping in organisation of public, cultural and visibility events, seminars and conferences, etc.
  • Drafting the Daily Press Review concerning Mauritius, Seychelles and the Region (cooperation with the Indian Ocean Commission)
  • Updating content for the Delegation's social media platforms (Facebook/Twitter)
  • Other tasks set by the Head of Section

Are you eligible for the traineeship?

  • You are a national from an EU Member State or pre-accession State
  • You are a young graduate with a University diploma (at least Bachelor degree)
  • The training period is a compulsory part of your course
  • You have less than 1 year of professional experience and no previous professional experience in the EU Institutions longer than 6 weeks
  • You receive financial support from a university or another public institution equivalent to 600 EUR/month.

The deadline for submitting applications are as follows:

  • 30 September 2019 for start date of internship early January 2020
  • 28 February 2020 for start date of internship early July 2020  

The applications received outside of these dates will be taken into consideration subject to the availability of places.

 Placement, Working Environment and Conditions

Trainees will be under the direct supervision of a Traineeship Advisor at the EU Delegation. Upon successful completion of the traineeship period, the EU Delegation will issue the trainee with a Certificate.

Selection Process

The selection process will be merit-based and aimed at ensuring that all candidates are treated in a fair, transparent and non-discriminatory way.

 Documents to be provided by the selected candidates:

- Copy of the diploma (young graduates) or University letter requesting a compulsory traineeship (for students)

- Proof of funding by the University or another public institution

- Language certificates

- Passport/ID card

- Extract from the "judicial record"

- Insurance certificate

- Medical certificate

 

 Important information

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered.

 

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. In case the selected candidate is not able to present all required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.
