Music Crossroads Academy with support from the European Union, through an Erasmus Plus grant, conducted workshops for about 90 musicians, music teachers, artists and cultural managers from Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe in Mchinji, Malawi, in March and April, 2019. The workshops were aimed at building as well as strengthening their capacities in their chosen fields, to continue making an impact in their communities through educating upcoming artists and musicians.
These workshops were followed by concerts which were meant to showcase the amazing creations which were as a result of the workshops. One concert was public and it took place at Umodzi Park on 13th April, 2019 and the other was more private and Music Crossroads were privileged to have hosted this in collaboration with the EU Delegation in Malawi and the Royal Norwegian Embassy, at the EU Residence in Lilongwe.
The idea of having a concert at the EU Residence was to appreciate the support that the EU has rendered to Music Crossroads in ensuring that African youth are creatively trained and equipped with new skills and technologies in music and arts.
