3rd Sensational Student Debate on: Accounting Standards and Economic Growth

It just keeps getting better!!  On 27 March, the third captivating debate by accounting students took place in Lilongwe - Central Region, jointly organised by the European Union and the Institute for Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM). The teams debated whether ''Accounting Standards are really relevant for Economic Growth.

After having conducted similar debates in Zomba and Blantyre, it was now the turn of accounting students in Lilongwe. And they did not disappoint; they debated energetically their side of the argument. After several rounds of questions from the attentive audience, the esteemed judges from the private sector and academia, had to make their difficult decision, which team was the more persuasive, assertive and convincing one.

While acknowledging the effort and energy of 'Don Bosco', we congratulate the accounting students of 'K & M school of Accountancy' for their outstanding performance. They will now advance to the semi-finals in Lilongwe on 02 May 2019. We wish them good luck!

This has been the 3rd of a series of 4 regional debates, where two teams are engaging each other on challenges facing their profession. The winning teams from the four regions will battle it out in the semi-finals for a place in the finals in Lilongwe on the 3rd of May 2019.
