Each EU mission works in the framework of a comprehensive approach. The mission works in agreement and coordination with the EU Delegations in the same area and in the framework of EU regional policies.
The FFS approach as jointly promoted by EU and FAO and implemented through KULIMA programme is transforming beneficiaries from passive recipients into fully skilled actors of the change process.
On Wednesday 9th May 2018, the European Union and the people of Malawi celebrated EU Day under the theme"EU for Inclusive Growth and Decent Jobs".
A big reception was hosted at the EU Residence in Lilongwe. Cabinet Ministers, leaders of political parties, EU Members States, Heads of Diplomatic Missions, CSOs, Private sector, Religious leaders and the Media attended the event. A pavilion showcased EU projects which promote growth and Jobs.
European Union in collaboration with the Government of Malawi and other stakeholders, on Monday, May 7, 2018, launched two programmes in Agriculture and Nutrition (Kulima & Afikepo).
The youthful intellectual minds challenged each other on their differing positions and further provided recommendations towards addressing the prevailing challenges.
As part of the International Women’s Day celebrations in 2017, STEP and National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM) launched the song in Malawi. Composed by Robert Chiwamba, a well-known poet and by Sangie, an award-winning musical artist, it has ranked number 1 for 8 weeks in March and April of 2017 and ended up the number 5 song of the year in Malawi in 2017.
