The Kenya Institute of Migration Studies (KIMS), based at the University of Nairobi, today graduated its first students. The students, comprising of 27 migration officers from IGAD member states, successfully completed the postgraduate study course on migration. Despite the impact of Covid-19, the students successfully defended their projects virtually.
The Kenya Institute of Migration Studies was established through the support of the Government of Kenya, the European Union and Germany, through the Better Migration Management Programme in collaboration with the University of Nairobi, Maastricht University and Department of Immigration Services.
Congratulations to the new graduates. We hope they will soon be back in their countries, to improve and harmonise the migration management in the Horn of Africa region.
