"Study in Europe Fair" held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

The "Study in Europe Fair", the first of its kind in Ethiopia held in Addis Ababa at Skylight Hotel on Saturday 16 November 2019.
20 European Universities, national educational promotion agencies, and European Embassies including EU Delegation to Ethiopia were participated on the Fair and informed Ethiopian students about their study programmes, scholarship programmes and research opportunities. More than 6000 Ethiopian students participated on the Fair. Prior to the opening of the Fair, an Institutional event was held on Friday 15 November in which scores of Ethiopian Universities and Research Institutions were participated.
During this event, EU Ambassador to Ethiopia, Johan Borgstam made an opening remarks saying "The EU and its member states have been actively investing in education, research and innovation in Ethiopia for many years and will continue to do so. In Higher Education, Erasmus Mundus is the EU's flagship education initiative aiming to enhance quality in higher education through scholarships, academic co-operation, dialogue and understanding between people and cultures.
Since 2004, Ethiopia is one of the top 5 performing beneficiary countries worldwide and top in Africa in terms of benefiting from the Erasmus Scholarship Programme. More than 700 Master and more than 300 PhD Ethiopian students benefitted from Erasmus Mundus Scholarship.
In the current year alone, 60 Ethiopian students were selected for the 2019-2020 Erasmus Master's scholarships to study 2 years full time in 12 European countries prestigious Universities in various fields".
