EUNIC cluster opens in Armenia: on 2 October the official EUNIC Charter was signed by the eight founding members, which was followed by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between EUNIC Armenia and the European Union Delegation to Armenia. EUNIC is a global network of European Union national cultural institutes which includes 36 cultural institutes that represent 28 member states in over 100 countries. Established in 2006, the aim of EUNIC is to share best practice in culture, promote cultural diversity, and encourage mutual understanding.

The EU Ambassador Piotr Świtalski congratulated all involved: “EUNIC is a global network, it exists in more than 100 states and it has found its way to a very cultural nation. The establishment of the EUNIC cluster in Armenia coincides with the European Year of Cultural Heritage, another symbolic coincidence”.
