Lesotho Energy Access Dialogue (LEAD 2025)

Lesotho's challenging terrain presents significant obstacles to achieving universal energy access, despite the country's considerable untapped renewable energy resources. Effectively using this potential is crucial to bridging the energy access gap sustainably and affordably.
The inaugural Lesotho Energy Access Dialogue (LEAD 2025) is an initiative designed to address its energy access challenges and fostering the development of its renewable energy market. The event will promote renewable energy technologies and projects throughout Lesotho. Taking place on 25 - 26 June 2025, in Maseru, it is organised by the Alliance for Rural Electrification and the Energy Research Centre at the National University of Lesotho.
Supported by Renewable Lesotho, a collaborative effort involving the European Union Delegation to Lesotho, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, and various partners, LEAD 2025 aims to enhance clean energy generation, improve energy efficiency, and ensure equitable energy access. The initiative also focuses on strengthening leadership and capacity within the energy sector.
