This week marked 100 days in office for Federica Mogherini. It also saw her chairing a Foreign Affairs Council that focused on counter-terrorism and the unfolding situation in Ukraine. This was also a key issue at the European Council and during the European Parliament's plenary session in Strasbourg. The High Representative also facilitated a dialogue meeting between the Prime Ministers of Serbia and Kosovo, which finalised the agreement on justice and judiciary in ‪‎Kosovo. She also met Palestinian President Mahmoud ‪Abbas and chaired the seventh EU-Lebanon Association Council.

Today's attacks on the Lebanese-Israeli border are undermining the cessation of hostilities established by UNSC Resolution 1701 and the peacebuilding efforts along the Blue Line.

The threats to Israel on its Northern border must stop. The EU calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities. An escalation of violence could be detrimental to the region as a whole in these difficult times.

Les attaques menées ce jour à la frontière libano-israélienne compromettent le processus de cessation des hostilités mis en place par la résolution 1701 du Conseil de sécurité et les efforts de consolidation de la paix déployés le long de la Ligne bleue.

Les menaces auxquelles est confronté Israël sur sa frontière septentrionale doivent cesser. L'UE demande l'arrêt immédiat des hostilités. En ces temps difficiles, l'escalade de la violence pourrait avoir des effets préjudiciables sur la région tout entière.

Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, today met the envoys of the Middle East Quartet (the EU, the US, the UN and Russia) in Brussels to work on the relaunch of the Middle East Peace Process.

The general objective of the programme to enhance the capacity of the Government of Lebanon and the
Lebanese Social Partners and Civil Society to be promoters of social dialogue in order to strengthen social
protection and improve and enforce labour legislation.

HR/VP Federica Mogherini's agenda this week included visits to Turkey and Lebanon, being sworn in at the European Court of Justice, and chairing Foreign Affairs Council on Development.

Mme Federica Mogherini, haute représentante de l'Union pour les affaires étrangères et la politique de sécurité/vice-présidente de la Commission, se rendra ce jour au Liban où elle rencontrera le Premier ministre libanais, M. Tamam Salam, et le ministre libanais des affaires étrangères, M. Gebran Bassil.
