Last evening, EU Ambassador Christina Lassen received Erasmus alumni and Erasmus students at the residence for a networking event. The alumni, who took part in exchange programmes between Lebanese and European universities during the years 2017 to 2019, shared stories and experiences from their time in Europe.

The global objective of this call for proposals is to enable Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to effectively contribute to eradicating poverty and promoting sustainable development

On the occasion of the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, we pay tribute to the essential role of cultural diversity in Europe and around the world for fostering dialogue, respect, and contributing to sustainable development and growth. Europe is a continent of cultural diversity. Our societies, institutions and laws are the outcome of centuries of exchanges of ideas, values, traditions and memories.

On the occasion of the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, the European Union reiterates its unswerving commitment to promoting and protecting the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) persons.

Across the world, cultural, traditional or religious values continue to be used to justify persecution, discrimination, bullying and gross ill-treatment against LGBTI persons, often involving hate crimes and extreme forms of violence, including torture and murder.
