EU Ambassador Christina Lassen meets with Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri
EU Ambassador Christina Lassen met this evening with Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri to discuss the latest progress in the consultation efforts led by the Prime Minister-designate to form a new government. "The continued absence of a government is starting to negatively impact Lebanon's economic situation and the lives of so many Lebanese", she said and wished the PM-designate success with his latest efforts.
In the meeting, Ambassador Lassen and Prime Minister-designate Hariri exchanged views on the economic situation and the follow-up efforts to the CEDRE conference. Ambassador Lassen underlined the need to make progress on the reforms proposed by the government in April: "The European Union stands ready to support Lebanon in the implementation of these reforms." Ambassador Lassen finally informed the Prime Minister-designate about the preparations for the upcoming Brussels III Conference.
