This is the third and final payment under the social protection budget support programme. It aims at helping the Kyrgyz Government to implement its Social Protection reform agenda. The total amount of the budget support grant disbursed under this program since 2016 amounted to 16.5 million of euro.
The main results under the programme include expansion of the contracting-out scheme between the Ministry of Labour and Social Development and non-state service providers for the provision of social services for the vulnerable population, development of foster care services for children, restructuring of the child residential institutions and development of the social work profession.
In the area of public financial management, the results include enhanced internal control systems, expanding internal audit function with certified internal auditors and improved budget process through strengthened program based budgeting.
In addition, as a complement to the budget support grants, the European Union provides policy advice, technical assistance and training to the staff of the Ministry of Labour and Social Development and the Ministry of Finance.
To remind, the social protection budget support programme is a part of the Multiannual Indicative Programme for 2014-2020 which amounts to 174 million euro.
