The EBRD and the COM are providing support to the City of Tokmok to rehabilitate water supply services and selected wastewater improvements in the City. Investments are expected to significantly improve access to clean water, reduce water losses, improve resilience to climate change and optimise operating costs for the Tokmok Water Company.

The Government of Kyrgyzstan introduced the Education Development Strategy 2020 in 2012 to address the overall management and to rationalise the financing of the education sector. In response to this the EU started supporting the education sector in Kyrgyzstan in a comprehensive manner.

Resolving the legacy of uranium mining in Central Asia has become urgent. The countries with the support of the EU call for prompt and further action.

On the International Day for the World’s Indigenous Peoples, we celebrate the contributions of indigenous peoples to the diversity and richness of civilizations and cultures and indeed to our common heritage. It is also a day where we take stock of the many achievements in the recognition and realisation of their rights and identify the actions that the world community still needs to take, so that human rights are universally applied without any discrimination.

International organisation Hedayah provides opportunity to do research to explore vulnerability to radicalisation leading to violent extremism in Central Asia and Western Balkans regions.
