EU builds a strong and modern partnership with Central Asia

On 11 May 2019 the EU Village took place for the second time in Bishkek – a mass cultural event aiming to familiarize Kyrgyz people with culture, history and traditions of the EU member states. The event took place as part of Europe Day celebrations in the Kyrgyz Republic.

2019-жылдын 11-майында Бишкек шаарында экинчи ирет Европа Айылы – маданий ишчарасы болуп өттү. Анын максаты жергиликтүү калкка Европа Биримдигине (ЕБ) мүчө өлкөлөрдүн салт-санаасы, үрп-адаты, тарыхы жана маданиятын таанытуу болду.

At a time when human rights are challenged on a daily basis with many attempts to undermine the universality and indivisibility of human rights, the EU has remained at the forefront of the protection and promotion of human rights and democracy, be it in international forums, bilaterally with governments or through concrete support to the civil society.

Abroad, the EU is represented through more than 140 diplomatic representations, known also as EU Delegations, which have a similar function to those of an embassy.
