In its development cooperation, the European Union uses different instruments depending on the context and aims of cooperation. In the Kyrgyz Republic, the majority of development cooperation is within the Development Cooperation Instrument.

Now, the EU is conducting an evaluation of these instruments, including the Development Cooperation Instrument. You can provide your opinion on the matter through a public consultation on the website of the European Commission

https://ec.europa.eu/europeaid/public-consultation-external-financing-instruments-european-union_en

All stakeholders in beneficiary and EU countries are welcome to participate. The results will be used to improve the way the European Union works in development cooperation.

The objective of this consultation is twofold:

  • to gather feedback from the broadest possible range of stakeholders, including those in beneficiary countries and in the EU Member States, on the emerging conclusions from the evaluations.
  • to gather preliminary ideas on the future external financing instruments after the current ones have expired by 31 December 2020.

All comments received through this consultation will be reviewed and considered when finalising the evaluations. They will inform the Commission both for the mid-term review report and for the work on future instruments.

Respondents can submit contributions in any of the EU official languages.
