Nataliya Apostolova, Head of the EU Office in Kosovo/EU Special Representative, will sign today a 5m euro contract for immediate needs of Kosovo to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The signature ceremony will be broadcast live at 17h today via the EU in Kosovo Facebook account (@EuropeanUnionInKosovo). It will take place through a virtual meeting platform.
The contract will include supply of specialised laboratory equipment and goods for protection from/treatment of COVID-19, for the needs of the University Clinical Centre in Pristina. The supplies include respirators/ventilators, infusion pumps and syringe infusion pumps, ambulance vehicles, finger pulse oxymeters and pulse oxymeters, patient monitors, defibrillators, electrocardiographs, hospital beds, and staff training.
In case some of the above items are unavailable, supplies of other necessary items such as tests, tubes, masks, gloves and disinfectants would be procured. The items will be procured through the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), which will be the other signatory of the contract. The event will take place in the presence of caretaker Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and caretaker Minister of Health, Arben Vitia.
