Paid Traineeship for Young Graduates at the EU Delegation to Malawi

ABSTRACT

Are you a young graduate interested in international relations?  
Are you curious to learn more about work in a diplomatic mission and how an EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in  Malawi?

What do we offer?

A traineeship of 6 months within the Economic, Trade and Governance Section of the EU Delegation to Malawi

Main tasks:

  • Support in the internal analysis of the national budget
  • Support in producing economic and trade reports
  • Follow up macroeconomic announcements (Reserve Bank of Malawi, key economic statistics, bond auctions results, banking news, etc.)
  • Research and analyse key economic statistics, and updates in Malawi
  • Analyse and summarise economic, trade and governance reports from relevant bodies
  • Present key findings of relevant studies (as directed by the team leader) to the delegation
  • Drafting minutes for reporting to relevant sections of the delegation, following attendance of meetings and conferences
  • Assistance (mainly through research and statistics) in public finance management files with the guidance of the relevant programme manager
  • Ad hoc Support

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. However costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation and visa must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.
