The European Union (EU) is an economic and political partnership between 28 European countries. We play an important role in international affairs through diplomacy, trade, development aid and working with global organisations. Abroad, the EU is represented through more than 140 diplomatic representations, known also as EU Delegations, which have a similar function to those of an embassy. The EU Delegation to Jamaica, Belize, The Bahamas, Turks and Caicos and Cayman Islands opened its doors in Kingston over forty years ago. Since then, it has worked towards the continuous enhancement of the political and economic relationship between these Caribbean countries and the EU, with a particular focus on poverty alleviation.
The post of Secretary in the Political, Press and Information Section of the Delegation, under the supervision of the Head of Political, Press & Information Section, and in coordination with the Press and Information Officer, to perform secretarial duties and help raise the visibility of the EU and the Delegation in the countries under its mandate.

We look for
CPS qualification or an equivalent secretarial qualification.
Minimum two years of professional experience in a related field.
Proficient user of MS Office and internet, ability to perform administrative tasks on social media websites.
A university degree, experience in an International Organisation, Diplomatic Mission, Direct Media, and Communications, or Publicity, excellent command of oral and written English and knowledge of another European language would be an asset.
Personal qualities, responsible, confidential, honest, discrete, adapt to a multicultural environment, and work accurately under time constraints.
