The Fifth Call for Proposals under the EU Funded Programme Central Asia Invest (CAI) – Boosting Small Business Competitiveness has been launched. Since 2007, CAI has been supporting the development of the private sector in Central Asia, with special emphasis on Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs).

The Council today adopted a set of conclusions concerning the implementation by the EU of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development, which was established in 2015 and comprises a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Given the horizontal nature of the 2030 Agenda, its implementation requires a cross-policy approach by the EU and its member states. Earlier this year, the Commission published a reflection paper "Towards an ever more sustainable Union by 2030," to which the conclusions are a response.

NUR-SULTAN –The Delegation of the European Union to Kazakhstan together with the Centre of enhancing media competence with the support of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan is announcing a media contest for professional study tour for Kazakhstani journalists "EU – Kazakhstan: strengthening media partnership". The EU-Kazakhstan Media Contest seeks to enhance people-to-people links and raise awareness of the European Union among the media community in Kazakhstan.

The fundamental human rights to safe drinking water and sanitation apply to every human being and are fully recognised and backed by the EU in its diplomatic efforts and development policy.

ALMATY – The EU Delegation to Kazakhstan launches two new projects aimed to support and protect the rights of socially vulnerable groups, namely of disabled people and migrants, in Kazakhstan. The two-year projects will be funded within the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) program, which is the EU financing instrument to support civil society initiatives on promoting human rights and freedoms, civil participation and the rule of law.
